UPDATE more pics of the baby!

here's the egg after the baby hatched :- ) tough lil thing!!


here's where momma and baby are staying for now to keep them safe and protected!

she has 5 toes like a silkie should too ;;v;;


we had to clean the bedding in the nesting box so i got to hold her ;;v;; she fell asleep in my hands!!

(the spot on my finger is from pickin grass for the chickens LOL it stays even when i wash my hands)

baby is not all black, she has color on her belly, beard, and feet (so far)… i wonder what she’ll look like all dry ;;v;;

momma (gracey) in the picture is a surrogate, the real parents are sunflowerand willow!!!!

Hmmm Gracey is broody and I'm trying to decide on whether I should stick an egg (or two. if Sunflower lays anymore) underneath her or not ;;O;;

They'd be Sunflower and Willow's babies.

Gracey would be their figurative mother because she'd be raising them.

Pros:

-CHICKS

-get to see Gracey become a momma

-more chickens to our tiny 3-silkie flock (which we need anyway)

-come on. cuteness

-the interesting aspect of it!!

Cons:

-could be a rooster :-/ we would have to rehome him then since we have two roosters already

-could potentially not hatch anyway

-any other typical "issues" with baby animals that you raise y'know

I'M HAVING SUCH A HARD TIME I'M LIKE AN INCH AWAY FROM JUST GOIN OUT THERE AND STICKIN THE EGG UNDERNEATH HER
